Very stylish “pre-deco" silver capstan inkwell of hexagonal form with lipped pen rest to the front of the base. The base is hexagonal in shape and rises up in a concave curve to a hexagonal frame around the well and hinged lid. It is fitted with a clear glass liner. Hallmarked for Sheffield 1919, makers Walker & Hall.

It measures 15.5cm (6 1/8") across the diagonal of the base and 13.5cm (5 3/8") side to side and 6.5cm (2 1/2") high. It is clearly weighted but weighs a hefty 633g so perfect for doubling as a paperweight. Condition is excellent with no damage or dents. The hallmarks on the base are a little rubbed but legible surface wear otherwise is very light. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
