A fully hallmarked solid silver Italian minaudiere. This beautiful and extremely rare 800 silver minaudiere / necessaire was made by Adriana Binazzi in the 1950s. This piece is remarkable, as it has a solid silver chain handle. This is the first of this style of solid silver minaudiere we have seen with a handle. A luxurious evening bag or bridal accessory which is elegant enough to compliment any ball gown / wedding ensemble. The lid, base, all sides & interior have the most beautiful hand engraved flowers & foliage. This outstanding vanity case has a background design that has been rendered with such skill that the etched finish will not show any fingerprints. A splendid accessory which will maintain its beauty and never need to be cleaned. The minaudiere is hallmarked '10 FI' (Adriana Binazzi) & '800'. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The edges are subtle & rounded which makes this comfortably portable and stylish. The hinge is concealed and the whole piece is superbly made. The bright-cut engraving it breathtakingly beautiful. A mid-century accessory which is certain to mesmerize!

The lid lifts to reveal a superb interior with an excellent bevelled mirror which gives a good and accurate reflection. Attached to the mirror bezel is a sprung comb holder. The interior is also fitted with a sprung money clip / cigarette holder, lipstick / lipstick holder and lidded powder well, which contains the original sifter and card insert. The internal fittings are decorated with exquisite bright-cut engraving. The whole item is in excellent condition. Image four shows the base.

This solid silver minaudiere / nécessaire measures 12 cm x almost 9 cm & weighs 316.8 grams.

The chain handle has a drop of six inches.
