Meiji Period Japanese Green Cloisonné Vases Birds
Description
For your consideration these stunning large jade green openwork cloisonne vases from the Meiji period, circa 1880. These quality vases are decorated with pink blossom, birds, branches and leaves and come with patterned rims and bases. These original vases are matching but are not identical in the pattern. One has depicts a sitting bird and the other has the identical bird in flight. The are not signed though the craftsmen must have been extremely accomplished.
Dimensions
Height 25 cm (10 inches)/Top diameter 9.5 cm (4 inches)
Condition
The condition is good. A small amount of crazing and wear which is commensurate with age and use. One small area of enamel damage which is shown in the last picture.
The photos can probably provide the clearest representation of condition so please examine these carefully.
