Norwegian Arts & Crafts Silver Beaker Anton Frisch

Here we have for sale a beautiful early 20th Century Arts & Crafts 830 standard silver beaker by well known Norwegian silversmith Anton Frisch.
The traditional shape is reminiscent of a traditional bucket bowl wine glasses seen in Europe since the 17th century.
The repousse/embossed beading along the bottom and the curved base are natural forms that is part of Arts & Crafts design. The item is beautifully crafted with a lovely fluted shape creating a perfect circular shape at the top, once again, very reminiscent of the Art Nouveau era as are the highly stylized monogram N.S.F.
As a consequence of its elegant bucket bowl form coupled with its Arts & Crafts touches, the beaker is a fusion of traditional and modern design to create a subtle and sophisticated object.
This beaker is pleasurable to the eye and a pleasurable to hold and fits perfectly within your hand.
Condition Report:
The cup has the usual surface scratches consistent with its age, particularly near the base, some tiny dints along the top and bottom of the beaker and some tarnish marks inside the beaker and along the repousse beading decoration that could be removed with a deep clean. The base has been slightly knocked a tiny bit misshapen but this seems minor in my opinion. There is some significant wear on the base, which I have captured in the photos.
However, this piece has been well looked after and in remarkably good condition for its circa ninety year age.
Height: 8 cm
Diameter:
5 cm (top)
4 cm (bottom
Weight: 48 grams
This is an iconic, historic Scandinavian piece of silver will be an impressive addition to your silverware collection, a real collector's item and a real talking point.
