Pair Art Deco Salt Spoons, William Hutton 1930/31

This is a stylish pair of top quality Art Deco Sterling Silver Salt Spoons dating to the 1930s. The salt spoons are made in Sheffield by renowned silversmiths William Hutton & Sons, with one dating to 1930 and the other to 1931.
William Hutton originally founded his company in Birmingham in 1800 before moving his business to Sheffield in the 1830s. The firm remained in the Hutton family and became William Hutton & Sons in the 1860s. They were famous for the quality of their silverware and were at their peak in the late 19th / early 20th century.
This elegant pair of Art Deco salt spoons are in excellent condition with no dings, dents or salt corrosion and very little suggestion of wear. They remain perfect for use with condiments on the dining table today or would make a super addition to any collection. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each spoon is 8.6cm long and the pair together weigh a respectable 11.5g of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the back of the bowls are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield and the distinctive W H & Ss Ld makers' mark for William Hutton & Sons Ltd. One spoon has the date letter "n" for 1930 whilst the other has the date letter "o" for 1931.
