Pair Edwardian Silver Salts, Atkin Brothers, 1907

This is an elegant pair of Edwardian Sterling Silver Salts on bun feet. The salts are made in Sheffield by Atkin Brothers and date to 1907.
The Atkin Brothers, under the leadership of eldest brother Harry and later his son Harry Jr, founded their company in Sheffield in 1853. They were very successful with both silver and silver plate flatware and cutlery, good quality tableware and other domestic items and remained in business for over a century before being bought out in 1958.
These are well made, quality items in a good gauge of silver. The pair of salts are in a rose shape when viewed from above and each one stands on three bun feet. They have no initials or personalisation of any kind. They are perfect for holding a variety of condiments on a modern dining table.
Condition is good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that is to be expected after over 110 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The salts are each 6.8cm / 2.7" in diameter across the top and they stand 2.9cm / 1.1" high. The pair together weigh a substantial 66.9g / 2.36oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks on the underside of the base are crisp and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the gothic date letter "p" for 1907 and the HA makers' mark for Harry Atkin of Atkin Brothers.
