A GOOD QUALITY, PAIR OF ANTIQUE SCOTTISH PROVINCIAL SILVER LADLES, GEORGE SANGSTER ABERDEEN,
A very nice Pair of Scottish Provincial Silver Toddy or Sauce Ladles by George Sangster, Aberdeen dating from c1850.
George Sangster is recorded as working in Aberdeen c1839 - 1881.
The ladles are hallmarked with the maker's mark "GS" for George Sangster and "ABD" the Aberdeen town mark alongside the Edinburgh Assay Office castle mark, the "thistle" Scottish sterling silver mark, the date letter "T" for 1850/51 and the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark.
They measure just over 6 1/4" inches (160mm) in length.
