Pr Silver Toddy Ladles John Mitchell Glasgow 1820

Here we have for sale an extremely elegant Regency period pair of early 19th Century Scottish solid silver toddy ladles with elegantly arched fiddle pattern handles each with a cast shell, a wonderful pair of ladles with the more unusual Glasgow assay mark.
Sponsor mark: John Mitchell (mark possibly overstruck, John Mitchell appears to have registered his mark in 1825... please see attached photos)
Assay office: Glasgow
Year of manufacture: 1820
Approximate Dimensions:
Length: 16cm
Combined Weight: 73 grams
These are a superb pair of toddy ladles with crisp shell patterned bases and beautifully rounded bowls, these spoons exude supreme quality and beauty from top to bottom.
Condition report:
In very good condition except some small but deep scratches to the silver on both spoons in the same place, where the handle and the spoon meet. There are the usual surface scratches consistent with age but crisp bowls and no dents or knocks and not misshapen - the bowls are still beautifully rounded like new with crisp edges that have remained.
These are beautifully crafted and exquisitely designed ladles to will be an asset to your silverware collection.
