Pretty Georgian Silver Bright Cut Engrave Milk Jug

A good sized George III silver milk jug of baluster shape with flared spout, triple reeded rim and shaped strap handle with decorative outer spur. Very pretty bright cut engraved friezes run in layers up the sides, some with geometric waves and circles and some with stylised flowers and foliage. To the front is a vacant shield shaped cartouche with hanging leaf droplet at the base and a snaking ribbon tied in an ornate bow set above. Hallmarked for London 1802, maker Robert Urquhart.
It measures 10.7cm (4 1/4") high, 13.3cm (5 1/4") handle to spout and 7.6cm (3") wide. It weighs 119g / 3.8ozt and can easily accommodate over 1/2 pint / 300ml making it a practical as well as decorative piece.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair. A small surface fault to the lip inside the spout. Minor handling wear, and the engraved decoration remains lovely and crisp. A very nice example. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
