Prudence Turner Oil Loch Monar 36
We are pleased to offer for auction this large and beautifully executed in subtle tones, oil on canvas by the British artist PRUDENCE TURNER, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner and entitled it verso 'Loch Monar'. The painting depicts a view of Loch Monar and the Mullardoch Hills. This loch is located in the Northern Highlands of Scotland.
PRUDENCE TURNER was born on the 15th March 1930 in Baluchistan, Pakistan of English parents. She took to painting at an early age and entered a competition against much older children at the age of four. She lived in India, Pakistan, Egypt, France and the UK, always learning and painting. Her best works were her Scottish oils on canvas and were mostly painted while she visited Ballachulish near Glencoe. She died on the 15th September 2007. Since 1967, her works have been reproduced in print form. For further information on her and for examples of her work, please do a google search.

The highest price achieved by one of her highland landscapes was in 2004 at Bonhams, where a painting achieved £635. Another achieved £528 at Bonhams, Chester in 2009. There are currently two watercolours by this artist for sale in a Devon art gallery for £950 each.
The painting is framed in its original 2 1/4" gilt frame. It is ready to hang.
