Fantastic quality Pierced Silver (tested, not marked) Card case.The front is mounted with elaborately detailed pierced Silver,showing Griffons,and Bird enclosed in Leaf Foliage, it has an impressive Book type hinge which is sprung to close the case. The inside and back is lined in fine green Calf leather and Moire Silk,having two pockets each of which will hold Cards/Stamps etc. There is witness of a possible hallmark along bottom edge of Silver face but am unable to identify enough detail.Inexcellent condition.Dimensions are 10cms x 7.5cms.Unable to date with confidence but guess around 1920's. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
