Silver Cornucopia Vinaigrette & Scent - S Mordan


A fine large example of the Sampson Mordan Cornucopia combination vinaigrette and scent flask. The horn shaped body has a screw top scent flask at the narrow end and a hinged lid at the wide end, opening to reveal a fully gilded vinaigrette with a pierced and hinged lid and the original sponge. The finger chain is attached to the scent lid with a sliding collar to allow easy opening.
Fully hallmarked for Sampson Mordan, London 1870
Condition - Overall in very good condition. All hinges and screw top in perfect order. Gilding
to inside of vinaigrette is perfect.
There is one small shallow dent to the underside of the flask.
The vinaigrette lid is engraved "B to A".
Fully hallmarked to lid and body. Body marks are a little rubbed but still clearly
legible.
Dimensions - Length 110mm, Diameter of Lid 36mm
