Arthur Vandyk Antiques are delighted to present for sale this beautiful Art Deco style engine turned napkin ring by Mappin and Webb Ltd hallmarked for Birmingham 1936. The napkin ring has the letters 'M S' engraved into the cartouche.
This collectable napkin ring would make an ideal handmade gift and thus would be a thoughtful present. Alternatively, this napkin ring is a usable piece of Art Deco silver tableware or would look splendid on display.

Condition Report:
Napkin Ring

In excellent overall condition with the odd minor dink to the edge of the ring and surface scratches, some of which are deeper, which is consistent with age. The napkin ring looks like it has never been used and in pristine order for its 86 year age.

The box

In good order with some wear to one edge and a small scratch to the lid. The fitted box is in full working order closing firmly and the yellow satin and silk/faux silk lining is in splendid order and secures the napkin ring beautifully and securely, with a tiny piece of loose thread evident and age related wear, which is what you would expect for an item of this age. Some dirt has accumulated in the square hole for the napkin ring and some wear to the bottom of the box, but otherwise a lovely box in good, presentable condition.

An ideal birthday, anniversary, christening, engagement or wedding gift.
