Assayed in Chester, dated to 1907 and by silversmiths George Nathan & Ridley Hayes (marked to the drawer front and the outer case). A great card box for bridge, in amazing condition with an unusual drawer front rather than lift top. A genuinely popular silversmith, producing quality work, this has small features that have lifted it to a better than average category, it is on raised bun feet, not flat to the base. The drawer is a nice and unusual design touch, the drawer handle is a well formed practical swing handle that adds flair. The scripted raised 'Bridge' motif to the top is a good period feature as well.

Size is 6 1/4 inches wide 4 5/8th inches deep and including the bun feet stands 2 1/2 inches high (small allowance for the curved top).

Condition: Excellent ,all original, the wooden carcass is in good solid order, the silver is undamaged, shows only signs of polishing and age, no dings nor scrapes . Everything fits as it should, drawer front is secure and the handle is perfect. Bun feet are all firmly attached to the body. The leather underside is undamaged, original paper label still in situ, a little whitening around the edges where the metal has been cleaned. All in all for the best part of 120 years old it is in great condition. Buchanan and Laing Galleries are a private client business. Appointments can be made by arrangement via email.
