This is a tall pair of antique brush pots. A Chinese, hand-carved bamboo bitong or flower vase, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Fascinating bitong, or traditionally carved brush pots - ideal for dry flower arrangements

Skilfully carved with an abundance of detail, the bamboo presents bright caramel hues
The scenes depict merchants within a bamboo forest, further decorated with pavilions
