2 x Victorian Silver Trinket Dishes, B'ham, 1895

Here we have a pretty pair of late Victorian Sterling Silver Trinket Dishes. The dishes are heart shaped with an all over embossed design of swags and ribbons interspersed with piercing. They stand on three ball feet. These would look very attractive on any dressing table or bedside cabinet or could be used as small nut or snack dishes.
The pair of trinket dishes are made in Birmingham by silversmith William Henry Leather and date to 1895. William Leather founded his business in the early 1890s and was later joined by his son with the firm becoming W.H. Leather & Son. They remained in business up until around 1930.
Condition is good, with just a couple of tiny dings in the bases and the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 125 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The dishes are each 9cm / 3.5ins from top to bottom, 7.8cm / 3.1ins across and stand 2cm / 0.79ins high. The pair together weigh in at 36.3g / 1.3oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, at the point of each heart shaped dish, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the Gothic date letter v for 1895 and the W.H.L makers' mark for William Henry Leather.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
