Dressing Table Pot with Silver Lid, H. Perkins, 1919

This is a stylish little George V Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot with a Sterling Silver lid. The pot is octagonal with slice cut sides and tapers up to the neck. The silver lid is round and screws on. It has a cork set inside the lid to form a seal with the top of the glass. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The dressing table pot was made in London by Henry Perkins & Sons and dates to 1919. Based in Tottenham Court Road from 1901, the firm specialised in silver mounted glassware such as perfume bottles, dressing table jars and vases and also silver mounted pipes, cheroot and cigarette holders and other smoking paraphernalia. They remained in business into the early 1930s.
Condition is good with no chips or cracks in the glass, just one tiny ding in the silver lid plus the overall superficial surface wear that has to be expected after over 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The pot is 5.2cm / 2ins high and 3.5cm / 1.4ins in diameter across the base. It weighs 32.1g / 1.1oz.
The hallmarks, on the side of the lid, are a little rubbed but still clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the leopard's head assay mark for London, the date letter d for 1919 and the H P & S makers' mark for Henry Perkins & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
