Here we have a very attractive French 800 Silver Cheroot or Cigarette Rest from the early part of the 20th century. The rest is shaped as a middle eastern shoe or slipper and is made from beautiful filigree silver. There is a heart shaped platform for the cheroot or cigarette to rest on and any ash would collect in the toe of the shoe.

Condition is very good with no dings or dents and no damage to the delicate filigree work. It is very clean inside and has probably seen fairly limited use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The shoe measures 7.3cm / 2.9ins long, 2.8cm / 1.1ins wide and 1.6cm / 0.6ins high. It weighs in at 16g / 0.56oz of solid silver.

The shoe is marked on the upper rim with the French Minerva silver mark for small items of 800 / 1000 grade silver. We have been unable to find a makers' mark.
