Georg Jensen Silver Handled Cake Server
This is a classic Mid-Century Georg Jensen cake server with a stainless steel blade and a Sterling Silver handle dating to around the 1970s. It has the clean lines and timeless modern look that have come to typify Scandinavian 20th century design.
Georg Jensen have a become a byword for quality and style. From their foundation in 1904 in Copenhagen, the firm have established themselves as one of the finest silver companies in the world with both elegant domestic items and exquisite antique jewellery.
This cake server combines the practicality of a stainless steel blade with the luxury of a Sterling Silver handle. It is in very good condition with just some superficial surface scratching on the blade as you would expect after many years of use. The silver handle has no dings or dents and is in particularly good condition.
The cake server is 18.4cm long and the steel blade is 4.5cm across at its widest point. It weighs 65.2g.
The handle has the Georg Jensen oval silver mark on the upper side and is stamped STERLING DENMARK on the underside. The steel blade is marked GEORG JENSEN STAINLESS, MADE IN DENMARK.
