George V Silver Cream Jug, George Unite, 1920

This is an elegant George V Sterling Silver Cream Jug from the 1920s. The jug has a flat base and a high arched handle extending from the side of a tapered body. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The cream jug is made by celebrated silversmiths George Unite & Sons in Birmingham and dates to 1920. George Unite founded the business in 1825 in partnership with James Hilliard and took sole control around 1845. George's sons joined the business and the name changed to George Unite & Sons in the 1860s. The firm was renowned for its high quality silverware and remained in business up until around 1930.
Overall condition is good with but there are a few small dings to the body of the jug such as you would expect after over 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The cream jug is 7.6cm / 3ins from lip to handle, 5.4cm / 2.1ins in diameter at its widest point and stands 8cm / 3.1ins high. It weighs in at a very respectable 70g / 2.4oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the side of the body, are a little rubbed but still clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter v for 1920 and the G.U makers' mark for George Unite & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £10.00 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the cream jug.
