A futuristic sterling silver minaudiere made c.1960 by master silversmith Fallaci Antonio for Gucci which is just gorgeous! Superbly made & in excellent condition. The whole case including interior is decorated with the most attractive & interesting satinised effect. Contrasting smooth silver edges & a unique thumb catch add to the sleek appeal of this rare vanity. Pull down on the smooth silver thumb catch on the right hand side to activate the spring loaded catch. The case glides open to reveal a superbly gorgeous inner case which is just so Gucci! The minaudiere has a lipstick which still works & has gorgeous bright red lipstick which was so en vogue in the 60s. Two inner lids conceal a powder well which contains the original puff & sifter which are in excellent condition. The other compartment was originally for cigarettes, paper money & valuables. This compartment is big enough for jewellery/jewelry & credit cards. Just in front of the mirror is a comb holder. The mirror gives an excellent & accurate reflection it has an age related water mark & also some minor age related wear which can be seen on image two. The case is fully hallmarked '925' sterling silver & signed 'GUCCI'. The marker's mark '356 FI' showing that it was made in Florence. The base is just as gorgeous as the lid. The lid, base & interior are free from dings. One of the smooth silver edges has a slight dimple which is hard to detect as this case has such a unique appeal.
