It is not often items made by the highly regarded silversmiths Sampson Mordan & Co. from the Victorian era are found in such superb condition.
This wonderful antique sterling silver combination cigarette case with striker was made by the firm in 1898. It is super sleek with gorgeous smooth silver lid & base & NO dings or damage. Tweak open the top to activate a spring loaded catch which ensures the case glides open to reveal a glorious gilded interior complete with striker & elastic strap. This is a high quality item from a highly collectible maker & will make a very impressive one of a kind antique silver gift.
It is fully hallmarked London Assay Office.
The silver gilt interior is delightful with easy to read hallmarks on both the lid & base.
All clasps & hinges work perfectly.
This Victorian silver cigarette / combination case measures 10 cm X 7 cm & weighs 133.5 grams.
