This is a very attractive late Victorian solid silver cigarette case - a lovely quality piece hallmarked in Chester assayed in 1897. Whilst the date letters are clear within the gilded internal, the makers mark is not decipherable. Measuring 3.1/4" inch (7.9cm) x 2" inch (5.1cm) all clasps and hinges are in good order. The front is exquisite with a beautiful picture of nude beauty - possibly Eve in the Garden of Eden, wonderfully applied, the base, slightly bevelled for ease of handling is fully engine turned - a really nice quality piece that will certainly not disappoint.
