c1797 Toddy Ladle with a Baleen handle with silver tip. This truly is a wonderful example of a early St. Valentines day gift. At first I was unsure how long ago this day was significant with St. Valentines Day, the day of romance, but thanks to the internet and "Wikipedia I discovered it actually dates back to the middle ages.

The ladle is in loverly condition and has been hand engraved to the base of the ladle with three initials "EFJ" and the words Feb'y 14.1797

Any white marks on the images are from the flash.

Condition Silver is in good original condition, no splits or repairs. The baleen handle is also in good condition

Marks and Maker Markers and Hallmarks rubbed but tested for being silver bowl and stem.
