Edwardian Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot, 1904

Here we have a very attractive Edwardian Cut Glass Dressing Table Pot with a Sterling Silver Lid. The cut glass pot is lozenge shaped with a star cut base and sides that alternate hobnail cut panels on the ends and the centre of each side with plain panels in between.
The Sterling Silver lid is very stylish with a plain central diamond surrounded by small swags and cabochons and then a scalloped and beaded edge that overhangs the rim. It fits snugly onto the glass pot.
The lid is made by renowned silversmiths James Deakin & Sons in Sheffield and dates to 1904.
Condition of the cut glass pot is extremely good with no chips or cracks. The silver lid is quite thin, as they often are and has a few very small dings in it that would have occurred simply from everyday use. Overall it's in good shape for an item that has seen over 115 years of use! Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The pot is 13cm / 5.1" long, 6cm / 2.3" wide and 4.5cm / 1.75" high to the top of the lid. The silver lid weighs 18.9g / 0.66oz and the whole pot weighs 245.6g / 8.66oz.
The hallmarks on the side of the silver lid are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter "m" for 1904 and the JD over WD makers' mark for James Deakin & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
