Sterling Silver Cased Set of 6 Puritan Spoons

This is both an unusual size and difficult to find, cased set of 6 George VI Sterling Silver Spoons in the Puritan style from the time of the Second World War. The spoons are called "Original Devon Spoons" as the design originated around 1660 from an Exeter Silversmith making a simple, yet beautiful Puritan spoon, around the time of the restoration of the English monarchy under Charles II and only 40 years on from the first harvest of the Pilgrim Fathers in America.
The spoons were made in Sheffield by renowned silversmiths Thomas Bradbury & Sons and they date to 1944 (full English hallmarks). (NOTE: Silver was a restricted material during the Second World War and most silversmiths had their resources redirected into the war effort and many of their staff called up to fight. As a result, silver from the war years is much rarer than in the years before and after).
The size is, as stated, unusual (please note we have placed a same design demitasse spoon alongside for comparison) They are not soup or dessert size , they fall halfway between tea and dessert. Each is 128 mm long and has a bowl width of 32 mm with a collective weight for the six of 126 gms.
Condition is excellent, with no dings nor dents and only the most minimal superficial surface wear. It seems likely that the spoons have seen little or no use. Please make sure to view all the photographs. The case is in good order but does have some cosmetic issue to the outside with water splash marks, it is minor superficial and could be recoloured if desired, there is no damage scuffs gouges etc The clasp is great and works fine, as do the hinges. The inside is clearly in excellent order.
