A rare 'Berrys Patent' Victorian Silver and Leather Vesta/Matchsafe Box.Silver engraved Lid with folding Handle to top. Gilt embossed logos for 'Barrys Patent London' The Lid with strong spring Catch opens to reveal lifting piece which then shows the 'Strike'.Beneath which is the Box for storing Matches.Full Hallmarks London 1866 for Joseph Hirst.Dimensions:- 4.5 x 4 x 4cms.A piece for The Collector. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
