12 x Silver Ringebu Coffee Spoons, David-Andersen
David-Andersen is the most famous name in Norwegian silver and antique jewellery. Founded in 1876, the firm is still run by the Andersen family today. Renowned for their high quality craftsmanship, you know that if you have a David-Andersen piece it will be the best it can be.
This set of 12 x 830 Silver Coffee Spoons in the "Ringebu" pattern come in their original box and date to around the 1950s / 60s. The upper part of each stem has an intricate interlaced design surrounding three star cut roundels. The lower part of the stems and the bowls are elegantly simple in classic Scandinavian style. They would grace any coffee table or dining table today.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings, dents or splits and only the most superficial surface wear, which is only to be expected after around 60 years of use. The outside of the box and the interior red flock tray are showing some signs of wear and use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each coffee spoon is 10.5cm / 4.1" long and the set of 12 together weighs in at a very substantial 122.8g / 4.33oz of solid silver.
The marks on the underside of the stem show the D-A mark and the set of scales for David-Andersen, either side of the 830S stamp for Norwegian standard 830 / 1000 grade silver.
