Holmegaard - Glassmaker, Holmegaard glass.
Danish glassworks. In 1825 Count Christian Danneskiold-Samsøe sought permission from the King of Denmark to establish a glassworks at Holmegaard Mose. However the Count died before receiving an answer. His wife, the Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe, decided to pursue the project and permission was given. Production started in 1825 and they were making only green bottles. They have become part of a modern group over a period of 185 years. They produce mouth-blown and machine-blown glass in accordance with the latest and most advanced production methods.
